[PROJECT INFO]
SENSO converts spatial perception into perceptible vibrations. Six vibration plates are sewn into SENSO, each with two vibration motors. Two ultrasonic sensors on the left and right measure the distance between the person and the obstacle. All are connected with cables to a Arduino in the box on the backside. The belt is made of a black jeans fabric, which is robust and gives the product a sleek look. Combined with a flexible fabric and a velcro fastener, the belt fits many different body sizes.SENSO creates the possibility of expanding visual perception or replacing it with haptic perception. This fundamental idea could be interesting for people with limited vision.
